About Mako

Forty years ago, a small company began designing and building revolutionary fishing boats that quickly earned a reputation as the most rugged in the world. As one of the originators of the center console fishing boat, Mako boats shattered the myth that offshore fishing was the exclusive domain of well-heeled owners of big, expensive sport fishing yachts. Today, you'll see them in every port where serious anglers gather—still fishing Mako boats built 20, 30 and even 40 years ago! Our earliest designs literally defined saltwater fishing boats for generations to come. And the reputation they earned has endured for four decades. Mako boats, with its classic Mako shark emblem, remain the most widely recognized brand in the industry today.
From the very beginning, Mako boats built boats tougher than they had to be. And today, our new generation boats are still the most rugged and seaworthy you can buy—with even more saltwater fishing innovations than their famous predecessors.
When you buy a Mako boat you don't just become an owner. You become a member of the MAKO boat family, a fraternity of over 30,000 anglers and boating enthusiasts who have made an incredible imprint on saltwater sport fishing in the United States and around the world!
