2002 Four Winns Horizon 210 Description
Four Winns’ Horizon 210, a sporty, spacious and versatile bowrider that comes bundled with a custom-matched Sure-Load trailer, is a boat for watersports fans of all ages.
It looks great. Finished with 100-percent Armorcote gelcoat, the boat should stand up well to the elements. While we were first struck by the boat’s exterior lines, its interior engine cover design particularly impressed us, flowing with the boat’s natural curves.
Forward and aft, the 210 combines practicality with style. Snap-in, rubber-backed carpeting covers the non-skid floor. Additionally, there are standard back-to-back lounge seats, coaming boards with integrated armrests and multi-level storage, integrated cooler with overboard drain and a self-draining anchor locker.
Both consoles feature built-in footrests, beverage holders and the warmth of burlwood inserts. A high, wrap-around tempered glass windshield provides significant protection from the wind.  The helm is strategically laid out, with highly visible white Faria instruments surrounded by gold bezels. Key safety features include grab handles and bars for all passengers.
There are ample stowage compartments hidden throughout. The ski locker is oversized, with a raised floor large enough to handle skis and wakeboards or kneeboards.
Aft, the 210’s seat pads and engine cover can be converted into a large sunpad. From here, a sun worshipper can spin around onto an enormous swim platform. A deep-reach swim ladder is concealed in a locker to starboard.
Accessing the engine requires the removal of both jumper seats, pulling a lever and lifting the foam-insulated hatch. Our test boat’s motor was a Volvo Penta 5.7 L Gi from the DuoProp series. With 280 hp, this 3,600-lb. boat has plenty of snap, and matched with its DuoProp drive, acceleration is awesome.
From a standing start, the Horizon 210 planes in 4.3 seconds, hits 30 mph in six seconds, and 50 mph in 12.8. The 210 managed 56 mph at 4,600 rpm in 18.24 seconds.
While the motor’s low-end performance is good, its mid-range punch is even better. We went from 25 to 40 mph in 5.42 seconds and clocked 30 to 50 mph in 8.6 seconds. At 3,200 rpm, the boat cruises pleasantly at 41 mph.
When combined with the DuoProp,  Four Winn’s trademark Stable-Vee design offers a unique driving experience. The hull reacts immediately to steering commands, certainly much faster than most people are used to with a recreational sportboat. This sensitivity allows you to turn fast, and if desired, make the bow “twitch” about.
Handling was predictable and largely unaffected by changing water conditions. The boat is designed for lake conditions, and with a one-and-a-half-foot chop, the boat eats the waves and turns best when trimmed slightly below zero degrees, not completely trimmed in.
