2008 Doral Alisio Description

Sure luxury has its price. But this year Doral has set out to prove that Trump-like luxury neednt come at a Trump-like price tag.
New-for-2008, the compact, valuepriced Doral Alisio offers all the necessities for day cruising and overnighting at a price that will allow more boaters to afford the joys of spending more time on the water.
Built on the Monticello hull, this 25 foot 4 inch cruiser has a small swim platform with storage for bumpers that leads to a cozy cockpit, outfitted with carpeting that looks like teak. The cockpit offers lots of seating for passengers with a wraparound bench to starboard, a rear-facing lounge to
port and a companion helm seat. A centre, step-up walk-through provides access to the front of the boat, while a see-through door leading down to the cabin lets natural light filter down below decks.
The Alisios carpeted cabin is relatively small and storage is at a premium, but this is to be expected in a cruiser of this size. The galley includes a microwave, one-burner stove, fridge and closet for hanging clothes. A Clarion radio with DVD will provide entertainment on cool or inclement days. A table V-berth converts to a bed that will comfortably sleep two, while a small sleeping area directly under the helm offers additional quarters for one adult or two kids. The head is small with simply a sink and no shower. Two portholes, a hatch and a window in the roof help brighten this cozy space.
Although aimed at the budget-conscious consumer, the Alisio stays true to Dorals tradition of combining European flare with North American comfort. The quality the company is known for has not been compromised on the Alisio, as the boat offers good fit-and-finish for a value-oriented boat.
Neither does the Alisio compromise on the water. It handled confidently and without cavitation through several manoeuvres on test day, tracking well and accelerating smoothly through various cruising speeds. Overall, acceleration was more than fair considering the size of the boat and the fact
it was powered by a single engine with duo prop. The Alisio went from 0 to 20 mph in 6.43 seconds and from 0 to 30 in just over 10 seconds. It planed at a respectable 2400 rpm and 15 mph, and topped out at 44.6 mph and 5000 rpm.
If you want a cruiser so you can spend more time aboard, the Doral Alisio is a great bang for your hard-earned buck.
