2009 Grady-White Tournament 205 Description
The Grady-WhiteTournament 205 Dual Console has been designed with families in mind – as each member inevitably wants to do something different on the water.

Whether it’s fishing, cruising or watersports, this 20-foot bowrider can handle it all.

The 50-square-foot cockpit provides ample room for fishing and is equipped with an aft deck fish box, a bow fish box, four rod holders, rod storage racks in the gunwale and an optional livewell with washdown.

When its time for the kids to have some fun, just pack away the rods, slide in the ski pylon and crank up the tunes on the satellite-ready stereo/CD player withMP3 input and head for open water.

Two transom seats, a port sleeper seat, and a sliding and swivelling helm seat provide seating for five in the cockpit. Bow seating is deep in the hull for security with storage under the port cushion. Additional storage is found in the helm console and a large fibreglass door opens wide in the port console, providing access to the optional head.

The helm is simple yet extremely functional. A pair of Yamaha Digital multi-functional gauges provides a host of engine data from speed to fuel flow. All system switches are placed high and to the right of the gauges, providing ample space on the helm for flush mounting electronics.

Our tester was powered by Yamaha’s F250 DEC.This V6 fuel-injected four stroke had plenty of punch, powering the 205 to 20 mph in 4.1 seconds and to 30 mph in 6.3 seconds.Mid-range acceleration was strong as well, taking only 3.3 seconds to jump from 30 to 40 mph.

Underway, the Grady-White has a soft and dry ride thanks to the SeaV2 hull design. The hull tracked like it was on rails in the hardest of turns and cut through wakes like they were non-existent.

It is easy to see why both the Grady-White 205 and the Yamaha measure up to most boaters’ expectations. The quality build, features and, ultimately, the performance from the boat and the Yamaha F250 have earned Grady-White and Yamaha JD Power and Associates awards for customer satisfaction in their respective categories.
