Whether youre buzzing around the marina, nipping to shore to pick up some takeout or worst-case scenario your ship is going down, your inflatable is your boats best friend. These multi-purpose boats add a whole new dimension to your boating experience and have come a long way since the roll-up rubber boats that originated in Europe.
One of the latest names to get involved in the inflatables game,Mercury has certainly brought along its dedication to quality. The V-400 is a prime example of the companys High - Performance Product Development philosophy and, at an inch over 13 feet, the boat is both spacious and sporty. With seating for six, you can rest assured knowing the thermo-welded seams will handle any abuse. There are also three non-skid step areas for boarding.
It is obvious safety is a primary concern forMercury. The V-400 boasts internal and external grab lines, along with handles on the helm console and behind the seat, helping anyone on board feel secure in calm water and rough seas alike.
On the water, the hard bottomV-hull with Vacuum InjectedTechnology (VITECH) provided optimum performance and the handling was nimble and precise. The V-hull also provided faster planing speeds. With two people in the test boat, we jumped out of the water and to 20 mph in just over five seconds thats thanks to the 40-hp four-stoke EFIMercury outboard, which was paired perfectly with the V-400. With one person aboard, the boat reached a top speed of 31.7 mph. The high bow rise also provided a bone-dry ride, even with sharp turns and waves.
Mercurys known dedication to quality and performance has been carried through to their line of inflatables. The V-400 offers great performance and handling, and is stable and confident even at the boats top speed of over 30 mph. You can be sure that the Mercury V-400 Inflatable will be up to every task, making for either a great stand-alone vessel or tender for any boat.
