The 47-foot 2004 Silverton 43 Motor Yacht is absolutely ideal for longterm excursions. To start out with, the model offers remarkably easy access from bow to stern. Port and starboard SideWalks lead from the flybridge to the front deck. Just take three steps down and you're on a wide non-skid walkway that circumvents the two sunpads encircling the front hatch.Your co-pilot can be at the bow in a flash to handle lines, watch for rocks or provide guests with refreshments. The step system is not only functional, it gives the motor yacht a much more contemporary profile, and inside it allows designers to make full use of the 14' 10" beam.
The steps down to the covered aft deck are wide and easy to navigate, even at full throttle. This is the place where there's bound to be meals enjoyed al fresco, with the refreshment area handily stationed to starboard, complete with wet bar, fridge, drink holders and storage. From here, a small set of stairs leads to the large swim platform where fenders and the mechanical power cable are accessed.
Two people can easily operate this craft. If you flip up the cockpit's corner couch backrest and open the transom door, you can see the back corner on the port side as you reverse into a docking slip.With your first mate spotting the way, and the optional bow thrusters opposing any irritating current, there's no reason you can't safely bring the boat home.
The 43 Motor Yacht is as easy to handle in open water as it is in close conditions. The hull tracks so true that the captain can relax and converse with guests perched on either side of the three-man flip-up helm seat. Others can unwind on the port side corner couch or the starboard lounge within steps of the refreshment cabinet butted up behind the helm seat.With twin 450C Cummins diesels providing the power, the boat can take the lot of you on a scenic tour at a pretty brisk clip.The turbos kick in at 2,000 rpm and the top speed of 32.3 mph is impressive for a 30,000-pounder.You can cruise comfortably at 28 mph.The only thing you better pay attention to is water depth.The 43 has a 3' 9" draft, and when you hit the throttles the boat likes to squat as the props dig in.
The Silverton has super performance considering that it's practically a floating bungalow. The open concept salon is brilliantly executed. To port sits a large dinette and to starboard, a spacious settee with a coffee table that converts to an ottoman which can be pulled up to the table for meals. Front and centre there's a 27-inch TV all can see, even the cook. Preparing dinner in the yacht's galley is no different than it would be in an apartment. There's pantry storage, a full-height fridge and freezer, oven and convection oven plus cabinets galore. The cherry woodwork throughout and the salon's UltraLeather seating have a classic timeless appeal.
Both the fore and aft cabins have their stall showers and head compartments. The 43 has enough hidden storage to ensure that you're not tripping over your guests' luggage.
