The minds at Bombardier Recreational Products have made it their mission to equip all of their PWC models with eco-friendly four-stroke technology, even the entry-level GTI, an all-new machine that offers top technology at an affordable price.
Powered by a patented Rotax 4-TEC SOHC engine fed by multi-port fuel injection, the GTI dishes up a heaping helping of performance with 130 horsepower, while still achieving a glowing 3-star California Air Resources Board emissions rating for 2006. Highlights of the GTI's technology include a closed loop cooling system that ensures proper operating temperatures at all speeds, off-power assisted steering to insure manoeuverability in emergency situations and a handy learning key that will keep beginner riders at a comfortable speed while they familiarize themselves with the craft.
Those who have ridden a GTI in the past will need to re-acquaint themselves with the 2006 model. It rides on a totally rebuilt modified V composite hull that's flatter and wider for better stability. The machine is easier to right if it gets tipped and it's also easier to board with its large boarding platform and reboarding ladder. There's also forward, neutral and reverse gears to make docking a breeze.
These user-friendly attributes are sure to appeal to first-timer families who are looking for a comfortable PWC to tour and tow with. This rather retrocoloured craft (with its white, yellow and black accents) seats three comfortably and with 50 litres of storage it's built to handle the long haul.
