2006 Regal Regal 3560 Commodore Description
As a family owned business, Regal has been building boats in Orlando, Florida for thirty-six years. The 3560 Commodore occupies the upper end of Regal's line of boats from 19 to 44 feet.

The 3560 is a nicely designed express cruiser that blends the best of entertaining, cruising and performance into one package. Many boaters wanting to move up from other express cruisers in the 28 to 30 foot range will appreciate the spaciousness and luxury amenities offered on the 3560.

Space for entertaining starts right at the extended swim platform, making boarding from low floating docks safe for all your guests. The large area combined with the telescoping swim ladder, transom shower and transom storage for lines or water toys for the kids, is an ideal staging area for fun in the water while at anchor.

The aft cockpit has a fold-away transom seat that opens the area up for deck chairs for two or three and storage compartments for extra gear. One step up is the main cockpit with a large U-shaped lounge to port and the helm to starboard; an excellent layout for keeping guests and captain together while underway. To starboard straddling the two cockpit levels, is a refreshment centre with an optional icemaker/ refrigerator, storage, trash container and Corian counter top with stainless steel sink.

The helm features a double wide seat with bolster that provides good visibility forward, sitting or standing. The dash is laid out in two tiers with the Faria engine gauges in the upper binnacle and the expansive lower tier has plenty of room for additional electronics over and above the standard Raymarine GPS/Plotter, VHF and depth sounder.

Access to the foredeck to enjoy the reclining sun pad or to handle lines or ground tackle is through the windshield or up the side decks. Moulded-in steps and grab rails make either route secure. Once forward, the flat deck around the fender and anchor lockers combined with the high stainless steel rails will keep your crew safe.

Below decks, the open floor plan salon with cherry and holly flooring, feels spacious and luxurious. The woodwork and fabric choices, plus the overall quality, reflect the luxury designation of this yacht. The LeatherCrest upholstered seating to starboard includes recliners and converts to a fold out sleeper, with dedicated storage for the salon table behind the backrest.

The standard air conditioning with heat, AM/FM Stereo/CD, DVD player, flat screen TV, and ample lighting, will make evenings aboard, entertaining or relaxing.

The galley has ample storage in both overhead and lower cabinets. Appliances include an AC/DC refrigerator, 2-burner electric range, coffee maker, and microwave. Nice touches are the Corian counter, dedicated trash receptacle, exhaust vent and the Regal dishes and silverware.

The aft or mid-cabin behind a privacy curtain, is open to the salon and converts from a seating and lounging area to a queen size berth in seconds. Recessed lighting, a screened hatch, and hanging locker round out the amenities.

The forward stateroom, behind a solid bulkhead and pocket door, features a queen size pedestal berth, incorporating a storage locker and drawers and with an inner spring mattress.Additional storage is found in the hanging locker and cabinets. Two screened ports and overhead hatch provide plenty of ventilation.

The head compartment a one piece and full fibreglass. It is easily cleaned and has a Vacu-Flush toilet, vanity with Corian counter, acrylic shower door, screened port and air conditioning vent.

Underway is where this Regal impressed me the most. The 19 degree deadrise Ocean Trac hull performed flawlessly, from hole shot and speed runs, to carving tight turns and handling Lake Simcoe's chop and wakes. The MerCruiser 8.1Horizons, put their power to the water through v-drives and they had our test boat cruising at almost 30 mph and topping out at 40 mph. Quite a kick for an inboard, but if you are looking for a little more performance, you opt for MerCruiser 8.1 stern drives and you should see 50.
