When first setting out to purchase a new boat, one of the primary factors you are asked to consider is use. Sometimes this means compromise, especially if you have a family with diverse interests who will all be spending lots of time on board.
With the Legend 21 Genesis Fusion, theres no need to choose. This pontoon fuses the options for fun in one great boat. Whether you want amenities for relaxing in the sun or options that allow you to fish, youve got it here.
This flexibility starts at the transom with Legends SMARTDECK design. The large sunpad lifts to reveal a big pop-up privacy enclosure, as well as base mounts for removable pedestal fishing seats a great addition to the aerated livewell (that can also be used as a cooler).
Aft, a large entertaining area is created by the L-shaped lounge, oversized table and two bucket seats perfect for a quick lunch or afternoon snack. And the integrated sink with running water on the helm console means you can wash up afterwards.
If youre looking for a comfy place to chat and enjoy the day, the two lounging couches forward provide ample seating while the kids play on the carpeted deck at your feet. The 21 Genesis Fusion may be just over 21 feet long, but it feels really beamy. And all the seating provides lots of space for stowing away gear
for water sports or fishing or both!
At the helm, I found my 5 foot, 3 inch frame worked against me a bit as the captains chair did not have a bolster to help raise my eye line up over the wheel. Nevertheless, the seat was extremely comfortable, with armrests and a slide for positioning. I did, however, have an excellent view of the custom moulded dash.
Out on the water, the 21 Genesis Fusion did not astound me with its prowess, but it impressed me with its solid and comfortable ride on a rather choppy day on the water. It adeptly handled the crosswind even at its top speed of 19.1 mph at 5100 rpm. This is great if youre going to have kids and grandparents on board,
as a bit of wind wont ruin a day of fun on the water.
The comfort and convertibility of the Legend 21 Genesis Fusion will keep everyone on board entertained no matter how they prefer their fun served up.
